How to Set Up Course Pre-requisites

For the purpose of this example, we will be setting up ENC 1102 English Composition II to have ENC 1102 English Composition I as a course prerequisite.

Step 1: Search for your course

Step 2: Click on Edit Syllabus

Step 3: Click on the Rules tab

Step 4: Click the + Add Course Prerequisite button

Step 5: Adding a Course Prerequisite

A. Search for the course that you wish for learners to take prior to having access to this course
B. Select the course by checking the box
C. Click +ADD

Note: You can include courses from across all sites inside of your account or cloud.

Step 6: Notice that the course that you selected is now listed under Prerequisites.

Step 7: You can also, set a Passing Score for the prerequisite.

Step 8: Click Save to finish adding the course prerequisite.

Now, any learner who wishes to complete ENC-1102 English Composition, MUST first complete ENC-1101 English Composition I with a passing score of 80% or higher.
